Bollywood Star Saif Ali Khan Out of Danger Following Intruder Incident at Mumbai Home
Mumbai, India – Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is recovering and out of danger after suffering stab injuries during an altercation with an intruder at his Bandra residence in Mumbai. The incident occurred early Thursday morning, and the actor underwent surgery to address the injuries.
Khan, 54, is one of India’s most celebrated actors and the son of legendary cricketer Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi and actress Sharmila Tagore. Senior police officer Gedam Dixit confirmed Khan’s condition, stating, “He is being treated … and is out of danger.”
Hospital official Niraj Uttamani revealed that the actor was undergoing surgery, adding, “The extent of the damage will be understood once the surgery is complete.” A foreign object was detected near Khan's spine, requiring immediate medical attention.
The actor lives with his wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, a fellow Bollywood star, and their two children in Bandra. Representatives for Kareena Kapoor confirmed Khan’s procedure and assured that the rest of the family is unharmed.
During the burglary attempt, a female employee at the residence was also attacked and is currently receiving treatment. Police have launched an investigation and are searching for the intruder.
The incident has sparked a wave of concern among the film industry and political leaders, who are calling for improved security measures in Mumbai. Opposition leader Clyde Crasto remarked, “If such high-profile people with security can be attacked in their homes, what could happen to common citizens?”
Actor and filmmaker Pooja Bhatt echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the need for a stronger police presence in Bandra, a popular hub for film industry professionals.
